Aberdeen approves insurance-pool membership, equipment financing and road closures for Special Olympics

The Aberdeen Board of Commissioners approved a package of consent and housekeeping items and authorized temporary road closures for the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run during its April 28 regular meeting.
As part of the consent agenda the board adopted Resolution #25-07 to join the North Carolina Health Insurance Pool (NCHIP), effective July 1, 2025. The resolution directs the town to provide the required notice to the North Carolina Commissioner of Insurance and authorizes the Town Manager or other official to execute membership documents. The board designated Town Clerk Regina Rosy as the member Trustee and Finance Director Butch Watson as the Alternate Representative.
