The Aberdeen Town Board on June 9 approved Resolution #25-09 to amend the townPersonnel Policy so travel meal and mileage reimbursements will follow rates set by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). Commissioner Teressa Beavers moved to approve the resolution and Mayor Pro-tem Bryan Bowles seconded; the motion passed unanimously, 5-0.
Town Manager Paul Sabiston briefed the board that the amendment would align the townpolicy with GSA per diem and mileage rates. Manager Sabiston said the change "will increase current rates to $16 for breakfast, $19 for lunch and $28 for dinner." Town Clerk Regina Rosy recorded the resolution in the meeting materials; the minutes show the resolution will take effect on July 1, 2025 and record the vote as Ayes 5, Noes 0.
The document attached to the minutes also reproduces Exhibit 12 (Personal Meals) with the prior per-diem figures ($8/$12/$20) and procedural language referencing the GSA website. Because the minutes include both Manager Sabiston's description of new GSA-based rates and a reproduced resolution text showing the prior per-diem amounts, the meeting record contains inconsistent numeric figures. The board's formal action, as recorded, is to amend the Personnel Policy to follow GSA rates effective July 1, 2025; staff should confirm the updated Exhibit 12 language and per-diem numeric values in the ordinance/resolution file and in any updated personnel-policy document.
No member requested amendment or additional direction at the work session; the resolution was approved on a unanimous voice vote and the clerk filed the resolution text with the minutes.
