Park County commissioners on March 10 voted to post-approve two community project funding (CPF) requests that staff submitted through Congressman Troy Downing’s office.
Grants staff said the same projects had earlier been prioritized for a senator-level request (Sheehy), then reconfigured and submitted March 4 through the congressman’s office after staff were notified of an earlier deadline. The two requests, in order of priority, are for the Park County Sheriff’s Office vehicle replacement project and the Main Boulder Road bridge replacement. Staff explained the dual-submission strategy was intended to increase the county’s chances of receiving funding.
A commissioner moved to submit CPF requests through Congressman Downing’s office; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote.
Grants staff noted the March deadline required a quick turnaround and that staff had already submitted the applications; the commission’s vote served as post-approval of that action. Staff said they will return with any updates if awards are made.
