County staff to present resolution moving library and ambulance levies to floating mills; some fire agencies unresponsive

County staff told Park County commissioners on Sept. 3 that a resolution will be presented with the final budget to move the county library and ambulance levies from fixed voted mills to the floating-mill methodology required by recent state legislation.
"The primary piece is going from fixed voted levies to this float," a staff member said. The resolution will be presented with the final budget the following day.
Staff warned, however, that several local fire agencies had not returned their decisions about fixed mills and that the consolidated-levies sheet the commissioners must sign will be due Monday. Staff emphasized they can provide information but the choice rests with the individual fire boards; timeline constraints mean commissioners may have limited time to walk agencies through the process before submissions are due.
Commissioners asked staff to follow up with the outstanding fire agencies and to bring more information when the resolution and final budget are presented.
