Commissioner Vermillion said the county lacked a generator at the fairgrounds and emphasized the need to preserve election continuity if power is lost. Commissioner Wells noted potential opportunities to raise the required 25% match and said the county could decline the project later if matching funds were not available.
A motion to file the notice of intent was moved and seconded and carried by unanimous voice vote. The commission did not identify final project sites or a full project budget in the meeting record; staff said full applications would follow the NOI and that the application deadline was later in the season.
