Staff (Speaker 2) said the commissioners approved the plan at the last planning commission meeting and that the developer appears ready to move ahead. "Last Tuesday at the planning commission meeting, there is a site plan approved for 41 and 45 South Main Street, which is the former Closson Grill... They will be putting in a restaurant on the north space and a coffee shop in the other," Speaker 2 said.
Board members said they would monitor potential impacts to the Saturday farmers market and downtown parking, and staff said the project should not affect market operations for the current season but will be monitored as construction progresses.
Next steps: Staff will watch for permit submissions and construction schedules and provide updates to the DDA as the redevelopment proceeds. The board did not take a separate vote on this informational item.
