Park County signs state-funded agreement to repair two small bridges

Park County commissioners on Feb. 26 approved an agreement with Timberline Contracting Inc. to perform rapid repairs on two county bridges identified by the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT).
Matt (speaker 2) described the project as an MDT-funded rapid-repair program that targets bridges where limited repairs can eliminate posted load limits. "They identified bridges throughout the state ... the state's gonna pay, a 100% to have those bridges upgraded so there's no load limit," he said, naming Canyon Creek Road over Bracket Creek and Meadow Creek Road over Meadow Creek. He estimated the work would be completed "30 days from when the contract starts."
Commissioner Vermillion moved to sign the agreement and the chair seconded the motion. The chair called for the ayes, and the motion carried as recorded in the meeting. The transcript records an affirmative voice vote but does not provide a roll-call tally by individual commissioner.
The commissioners and staff characterized the bridges as low-use structures but said the state reimbursement made the repairs fiscally straightforward. No public commenters spoke in opposition during the meeting. The county did not provide a contract value in the discussion; funding for the work was described as 100% reimbursable by MDT.
The county staff indicated work should begin promptly following contract execution and be substantially complete within roughly a month. No construction start date or contractor schedule beyond the 30-day estimate was provided during the meeting.
