Colorado House introduces constitutional amendment on charitable gaming, forwards multiple bills to committees

The Colorado House received routine committee reports, referred several bills for further consideration and introduced a resolution that would submit a proposed constitutional amendment on charitable gaming to voters.
The clerk reported that the Committee on Agriculture, Water and Natural Resources recommended that House Bill 11 3 be amended as filed and, as amended, referred to the Committee on Appropriations with a favorable recommendation. The Committee on Finance recommended that house bill 11 o 7 and senate bill 46 be referred to the Committee of the Whole, and that bills 12 21, 12 22 and 12 23 as amended be referred to the Committee on Appropriations with a favorable recommendation. The Committee on State, Civic, Military, and Veterans Affairs recommended that House bills 10 83, 11 28 and 12 43 be postponed indefinitely. The Committee on Transportation, Housing, Local Government reported that House Bill 12 37 be amended and, unless amended, referred to the Committee of the Whole with a favorable recommendation.
The chief clerk noted that the printing report and messages from the Senate and the Reviser will be printed in the journal, and the clerk recorded that the speaker has signed the day's bills, resolutions and memorials.
House Concurrent Resolution 10 01, introduced by representatives Ricks and Sukla and also listing senator Henriksen, would submit to the registered electors of the state of Colorado an amendment to the constitution concerning the conduct of charitable gaming activities; the resolution would repeal current constitutional provisions that specify requirements for charitable gaming and authorize the General Assembly to provide statutory oversight. The clerk assigned the resolution to the Committee on State, Civic, Military, and Veterans Affairs for consideration.
House Joint Resolution 10 22, introduced by representatives Brown and Joseph and also listing senators Amabile and Wallace, would designate Arapahoe Road from the intersection of U.S. Route 36 to the intersection of U.S. Route 287 as the Road of Remembrance; the resolution was laid over for one day under House rule.
A motion was made on the floor that the House stand adjourned until Wednesday, March 11 at 9 a.m.; the clerk announced that the House is adjourned to that date and time.
