At its Feb. 24, 2026 meeting the Fulton County Board of Commissioners met with representatives of local service organizations and consumers to present and sign a proclamation designating March 2026 as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
Commissioners Randy H. Bunch, Steven L. Wible and Hervey P. Hann joined Human Services Director Julie Dovey and stakeholders including Marissa Hockenberry (Occupational Services Inc.), Erica Ramsey (CRI), Rebecca Weaver (Franklin/Fulton IDD Program Specialist), Deanna Shaeffer (Full Circle Residence), Lianne Garner (Full Circle Residence), Logan Crouse (consumer of The Arc), and others for a group photo and the formal signing. Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve and execute the proclamation; the motion was recorded as carried with all in favor.
The proclamation, as read in the minutes, commends the observance and recognizes "that Fulton County becomes a better place when people with and without disabilities come together to form strong, diverse communities." The minutes do not list specific follow-up actions tied to the proclamation.
