Fulton County adopts 2026 budget with no tax increase, approves pension report and vendor retention

Fulton County Commissioners voted unanimously on December 30 to adopt the county’s 2026 budget and to approve the accompanying Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution with no tax increase for the coming fiscal year.
Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed and Chief Financial Officer Mike Lamb presented the budget; Reed told the board there were no changes since the public advertisement. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the proposed 2026 budget, and the full board voted in favor.
The board also approved the December 2025 Pension Report as presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston and accepted accounts payable dated December 30, 2025 totaling $112,913.87, with $98,764.92 charged to the General Fund and $14,148.95 to Debt Service.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve an agreement to retain Keller Engineer, Inc. for fiscal year 2026; commissioners noted the official appointment will be made at the board’s reorganizational meeting on January 6, 2026. All motions carried unanimously.
The budget adoption closes the county’s formal spending plan for 2026; county staff will proceed with implementation and routine administrative actions under the approved levy and appropriation resolution.
