MPO names former mayor Steve D'Amico executive director; short‑range transit plan procurement set to begin

Paluzzo said D'Amico filled the MPO executive director position in late July and has been working on items the MPO needs to finalize before programming projects. Paluzzo said the MPO conducted informational sessions—one at the library—focused in part on a Title VI plan the MPO created because it is a new organization.
The MPO has applied for a short‑range transit plan and staff are preparing to go out for qualifications to hire a consultant. Paluzzo estimated the short‑range plan itself will take about a year to complete and said staff will update the commission as procurement progresses.
A commissioner asked that MPO staff be invited periodically to give one‑on‑one updates at commission meetings; Paluzzo said he would ask the MPO to attend future meetings.
A procedural item closed out the meeting when commissioners discussed agenda dating and bylaws signature pages; the clerk said signature names do not need to be changed unless the bylaws are amended.
