The Richmond Board of Public Works and Safety on Feb. 12 approved contract No. 7-2026 to sell a 5.7-acre parcel in the Midwest Industrial Park to Milestone Trailer Wash and authorized the board president to sign the option to exercise.
Sarah Mitchell, who identified herself as a representative of the Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County, told the board the buyer will purchase the smallest tract subdivided from the park. "They're making a $2,300,000 investment with 5 jobs and an annual payroll of $210,000," Mitchell said during her presentation requesting approval.
The board moved and seconded approval of the contract and voted by voice; the Chair called for the ayes and the motion carried with no recorded opposition. After approving the sale, the board made an additional motion to authorize the board president to sign the option to exercise; that motion also passed on an aye vote.
The sale is structured as a purchase of the 5.7-acre tract; Mitchell said the buyer, Milestone Trailer Wash, will be a new tenant of the industrial park. The board did not record further details about closing dates or contingencies during the meeting.
The board adjourned at the conclusion of contract business. The board did not provide a timeline for the buyer's planned construction or a completion date during the meeting.
