Fulton County commissioners accept Prothonotary hire, hear renovation and audit updates, continue Clean and Green matter

At its March 3 meeting the Fulton County Board of Commissioners hired Laurel Griest as an Office Deputy I in the Prothonotary’s Office effective March 4, 2026, following a recommendation from HR Administrator Mary Huston and with Franklin/Fulton County Court Administrator Rebekah Reigner participating via Zoom. Commissioner Randy H. Bunch moved to hire Griest and the motion was recorded as approved unanimously; a separate Salary Board set the new hire’s salary.
Commissioners heard an audit review from County Auditors Penny Kipp, Rebecca Kendall and Holly Falkosky; the minutes record the meeting took place but do not include detail on audit findings. Commissioners also met with Building and Maintenance Director Brad Seville for updates on "Phase II" renovations to a newly purchased building on Lincoln Way West in McConnellsburg; no construction contract awards or dollar amounts were recorded in the minutes.
During the meeting Fulton County resident Craig Strait raised a continued "Clean and Green" matter. Commissioners said they would review the item further with the County Solicitor.
