The Fremont County Commissioners convened in Lander on March 10, 2026, approved the agenda with changes and accepted the minutes from the March 3 regular meeting.
County Clerk Julie Freese presented a bills list that included major line items and vendor charges; the board voted to accept the bills for payment. The bills included a $109,627.77 charge for Alexander Excavation (Riverview Road reconstruction), a $30,000 payment listed under Opioid Settlement for Bluestreak K9 LLC, and a $78,233.72 BMO Financial Group credit-card charge summary. Commissioners reviewed items in the Signature File and Priority Mail, including a Bureau of Land Management notice of proposed decision and monthly revenue reports.
Transportation Superintendent Billy Meeks requested and the commission approved rehiring a Roads Maintenance level 1–3 position with a salary range of $41,300 to $46,600 annually. The motion to approve the rehire carried unanimously.
Commissioners also agreed to changes to the liaison list. A pre-budget hearing with County Clerk Julie Freese included preparatory discussion for the fiscal year ending 2027 budget process. During the open public comment period, no members of the public spoke.
The commission moved into an executive session at 10:00 a.m. to discuss potential litigation and reconvened at 10:15 a.m., both motions carrying unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 11:00 a.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for March 24, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
