Clovis Unified board appoints two principals, adopts financial certification and several routine measures

The Clovis Unified School District Governing Board approved two principal appointments, adopted a financial certification required by state law, and approved several consent and action items during its March 4, 2026, meeting at the Professional Development Building boardroom.

Board President Tiffany Stoker Madsen called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. and the Board reconvened from closed session at 6:37 p.m., at which time trustees announced actions taken in closed session. The Board approved the appointment of Alicynne Chaney, currently deputy principal at Clovis North Educational Center, to principal of Clovis North Educational Center, and appointed Baljit Gill, currently deputy principal at Clovis High School, to principal of Clark Intermediate School; both appointments take effect July 1, 2026. Each appointment was approved by recorded motion and vote.

Superintendent Corrine Folmer, Ed.D., delivered a brief superintendent’s report summarizing district news and achievements. Student Board Representative Evan Acosta of Clovis East High School provided a student activities update. In recognition of Music in Our Schools Month the Clovis High School Band performed selections under director Esmeralda Rocha Lozano, and the City of Clovis presented a proclamation declaring March 4 as Golden Cougar Marching Band Day.
