Committee approves replacing Select Board’s voting seat on Traffic Advisory Committee with at‑large member

The Charter and Bylaw Review Committee voted unanimously Jan. 21 to recommend removing a Select Board voting seat from the Traffic Advisory Committee and allowing the committee to fill that seat with an at‑large member.
The change was proposed because Select Board members occasionally cannot attend TAC meetings, which can prevent TAC from achieving a quorum. Chris Gittens moved to substitute a Select Board member with an at‑large member; David Powell seconded and the committee approved the motion 5‑0‑0.
The committee’s recommendation resolves the immediate quorum concern and sends the procedural change forward as part of the committee’s package of charter and bylaw updates for the Select Board to consider.
