At the Jan. 26 Board of Assessors meeting, Assessor Rick Ladd reported 17 abatement applications are pending and reminded the board that the filing deadline is Feb. 2, 2026. Ladd said he will attend an all-day commercial tax seminar and that recent residential permitting activity has included a number of condominium projects.
The board said staff will schedule a session at the Council on Aging to explain Personal Exemptions. Rebecca Neale noted that the Town website’s Personal Exemptions page currently references a $72,000 2024 threshold; she said the page should instead reference the Senior Circuit Breaker and note that income limits vary by household size.
The board did not provide additional financial estimates for the potential impacts of the pending abatement applications or the new-residential growth during the public minutes.
