Assessors recommend Select Board add Veterans' Hero Act to Town Meeting warrant

The Town of Bedford Board of Assessors voted Jan. 26, 2026, to recommend that the Select Board place the Veterans' Hero Act on the warrant for the next Town Meeting and to recommend approval.
Rebecca Neale moved the recommendation and Nance Wolk seconded. The motion passed 2-0.
Board members said the Veterans' Hero Act would increase veterans’ personal exemptions by the Consumer Price Index; the board noted that the exemption’s fiscal impact would be covered from the overlay account and that adoption requires a Town Meeting vote. No additional fiscal estimate was presented during the meeting.
