Clearwater County opens multimillion-dollar bids for road projects and pavement marking contracts

Clearwater County opened bids for multiple highway and pavement projects during the March 10 meeting. County engineering staff opened the package of SAP projects and CP 26-042 at 10:00 a.m.; published bid results list Knife River Materials ($3,297,995.44), RJ Zavoral & Sons, Inc. ($2,804,235.10), Northern Paving ($3,157,000.00), Mark Sand & Gravel Co ($2,856,944.69), and Hawkinson Construction ($2,683,053.62) among the respondents.
At 10:10 a.m. the county opened bids for CP 26-100 countywide pavement marking; bidders and totals were Sir Lines-A-Lot LLC ($88,023.00), KAMCO Inc. ($80,483.40) and 3D Specialties ($103,980.60). At 10:20 a.m. the Board opened bids for CP 26-200 (north half re-gravel), with Mark Sand & Gravel ($453,103.00), Vogt’s Dirt Service LLC ($453,789.00) and DLL Excavating, Inc. ($479,514.00) listed.
The bids were recorded at opening; the minutes do not show awards, contract approvals or a decision on low bidders. County Engineer Dan Sauve, Camron Herriman and Staci Reed were present for the bid openings. Further action—award, contract execution or budget adjustments—was not recorded in the March 10 minutes.
