Roosevelt County commissioners approve Everbridge contract, Brockton hydrant bid and routine purchases

Roosevelt County commissioners on Feb. 10 approved several routine administrative measures, including a three-year Everbridge mass-notification contract, a bid award for Brockton hydrants and routine purchases and personnel actions.

The commission voted to replace the county's Code Red notification system with Everbridge, which the chair said would cost $3,666.25 per year and is locked at that price for three years. The chair told the panel that Code Red had been compromised and that county staff and the 9-1-1 board had recommended Everbridge; Clerk/Recorder Lindsay said she would publish sign-up instructions for residents.

On the Brockton hydrant project, John Bach of the Interstate engineering firm reported five bids and recommended Bishop Inc. of Malta as the low responsive bidder at $194,449. "We received five bids; Bishop Inc. out of Malta was low at $194,449," Bach said. Commissioners noted the project includes hydrants and valves and expected it to help Brockton's water-pressure problems.

Commissioners discussed funding and Commissioner Gordon said the work would be paid from the Brockton community funds and associated enterprise accounts rather than from general county funds. The commission approved awarding the contract to Bishop Inc.

The panel approved a clerk/recorder request to buy a lobby copier from Wells Office World for $7,217.85; the vendor will remove old copiers and install the new machine and the purchase will be charged to county building funds. The commission also approved the February claims (reference provided in the record) and granted an annual pay raise for sheriff's office employee Tyson Nelson, moving him up one pay grade.

All items were approved by voice vote; the meeting record shows motions and seconds on each item and that the motions passed.
