Hardin County approves routine financial items, authorizes truck purchase and disposals

The Hardin County Commissioners Court on Feb. 24, 2026 approved routine financial business, authorized a vehicle purchase for Road & Bridge Precinct 3 and cleared several surplus-equipment items from inventory.
The court unanimously approved the Feb. 10, 2026 regular meeting minutes and accepted the county cash statement after a request by County Treasurer Deborah McWilliams. County Auditor Candice McKinney then presented bills and the court authorized payment as presented.
Commissioner Amanda Young requested approval to purchase a 2026 Ford F‑150 for Road & Bridge Precinct 3 at a cost of $47,749.50 from Sour Lake Ford, to be paid from line item 017‑623‑574 (auto purchase). The court approved the purchase and amended the FY2026 R&B 3 budget to move $47,750 from equipment purchase to auto purchase. The motion was made by Commissioner Ernie Koch and seconded by Commissioner L. W. "Nubbin" Cooper Jr.; Judge Wayne McDaniel and all commissioners voted in favor.
The Purchasing Agent presented several surplus items for disposition. The court authorized the Purchasing Agent to dispose of miscellaneous furniture that received no bids on Rene' Bates Auctioneers and approved the removal of 32 poll pads (Apple iPads) from inventory to be returned to KNOWiNK, LLC for buyback credit. Both actions were approved by recorded motion.
The meeting adjourned after a brief period for non‑agenda announcements.
