Benjamin Legge of the Office of Corporation Counsel asked the board to withdraw from the table the public hearing item on demolition and removal for 11033 Heverstik Road, noting the item had been tabled across multiple meetings and staff believes they are close to moving forward. Legge said withdrawing the matter from the table would not prevent the city from pursuing code enforcement and that the city could return the item to the agenda if extraordinary circumstances or noncompliance required it.
A board member asked whether withdrawing the item would stop the city's pursuit; Legge answered that it would not and that the procedural step simply affects notice requirements if the city needs to relist the matter. The board moved to withdraw the item and voted to approve the withdrawal.
Legge said departments are comfortable with the steps taken and that staff will bring the item back if needed.
