The Select Board opened a public hearing on proposed changes to Article 58, the Salary Administration Plan, and reviewed draft job descriptions that would add or retitle positions to reflect evolving department responsibilities.
Key proposed changes include creation of a Community Planning Administrator (new support/coordination role), retitling an Assistant Planner to Community Planning & Sustainability Manager to reflect expanded sustainability and community engagement responsibilities, clarifying a Licensed Social Worker title and adding an unlicensed Social Worker grade one level below the licensed position, and correcting the GIS Administrator title. The draft FY27 Classification and Wage Schedule also reflects an average 37.5-hour week leading to an adjusted hourly rate.
Board members discussed which office would carry primary responsibility for Energy & Sustainability work; Town Manager Matt Hanson said multiple departments would be involved, with primary responsibility resting with the Housing and Economic Development Director and Town Manager oversight. Patricia Fabian, chair of the Energy and Sustainability Committee, asked for committee representation at planning meetings when sustainability topics arise.
The board closed the public hearing by unanimous vote; no adoption vote for the bylaw was recorded in this meeting excerpt.
