Kat Rohn, executive director of OutFront Minnesota, told the council, "This is a statement of where we stand, of what we value." Noah Parrish, communications director at Gender Justice, said the resolution reinforces Minnesota's status as a refuge for trans people and urged continued legal and political support.
Council members offered brief remarks of support and described the resolution as an important reaffirmation of local values and protections. The council voted 6–0 to adopt the resolution and directed staff to forward it to Minnesota's congressional delegation.
