The Saint Paul City Council on Jan. 7 adopted a resolution approving the appointment of a new city attorney and administered the oath of office. The council welcomed the appointee and representatives of the mayors office, and the new city attorney expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve the city.
Council members also reconsidered and adopted a resolution celebrating the Saint Paul Family Medical Centers 25-plus years of service to the East Side community and declaring Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, as Dr. Po Zhang Day in Saint Paul. Dr. Po Zhang spoke briefly and invited the public to the Saturday celebration, describing the clinics long history serving Hmong and other communities and noting that the event will include resources and community partners.
Council members praised the clinics role as a trusted medical home and highlighted the nominees mentorship and clinical contributions over multiple decades. The resolution and the appointment were adopted by voice votes noted in the record.
