Eureka County approves multiple community donations including $12,000 to Rodeo Club

During the March 3 meeting the Board approved three community grant requests. Brooke Watts requested assistance to attend the Coast 2 Coast International Athletics Track and Field Competition in Queensland, reporting total costs of $5,195; the Board approved a $1,500 donation to support her travel. The Board also approved a $3,000 contribution to the Eureka County High School Class of 2026 scholarship drive to be paid from miscellaneous grants.
Adriene Tibbitts representing the Eureka High School Rodeo Club asked the Board for up to $12,000 to purchase livestock panels for additional permanent stalls at the Eureka County Fairgrounds; the Club would provide the labor to install the panels. The Board approved the $12,000 donation; motion carried 3-0.
All three motions passed unanimously. The approvals were recorded as donations to be paid from the Commissioners' miscellaneous grants account and will be processed administratively.
