The board discussed re-enrolling in a telehealth tablets subscription that a commissioner said will cost Treasure County $300 a month for two tablets and the subscription. Commissioners described planned Zoom training for the county public-health nurse and school staff and said they would coordinate placement and training with neighboring counties that are piloting the program.
One commissioner recounted experience with a pilot program and said telehealth tablets reduce liability and lengthy travel to obtain care, and members agreed more training was needed to ensure local staff can use the equipment. The board indicated it will sign up for another year of the service and arrange virtual training rather than travel to external training locations.
Staff were asked to pursue subscription renewal, schedule training and report back on deployment plans for local schools and public-health staff.
