The Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 13 adopted the county’s 2026 pay scale and approved a revision to the Human Resources Manual that clarifies the health-insurance opt-out payment for employees.
HR Administrator Mary Huston presented the 2026 pay scale, which Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve. The board also approved a revision to HR Manual Section 212, "Employee Benefits," establishing that eligible employees who opt out of county health insurance will receive a pro-rated payment up to $1,020 per calendar year (the meeting notes specify this as $85 per month), with the payment to be made in the final December payroll or upon resignation if the employee leaves in good standing; the waiting period is excluded when calculating payment.
During the meeting the board approved filling a vacant Domestic Relations position. Domestic Relations Director Tina Gress requested authorization to hire for the union position "Enforcement Officer 1." Commissioner Randy H. Bunch moved to hire Angie Horton for that position, effective Jan. 26, 2026. A Salary Board meeting was held to set the salary according to the collective bargaining agreement; separate Salary Board minutes are on file.
All motions recorded in the transcript passed with the commissioners voting 'All in favor.'
