Tom Chamberlin of Mandeville Agency presented a dividend check of $26,894.84 from State Fund to Stillwater County, citing the county's "outstanding safety conditions." The presentation came during the Nov. 3 session of the Stillwater County Board of Commissioners.
The board then considered a Property & Casualty Agent Appointment and Agreement between Mandeville Agency and Stillwater County. The agreement is structured as an annual contract with an agreed annual amount of $39,643.32; county staff noted the increase was set as a 2% raise over the previous amount rather than a percentage of premium. Commissioner Roger Webb moved to approve the agreement and Commissioner Jeff Ruffatto seconded; the motion passed on a 3-0 vote.
The dividend reduces net insurance costs for the county this year, while the new agent agreement fixes the county's placement fee for the coming fiscal year. No amendments to the agreement were recorded during the meeting. The board took no separate action beyond the motion to approve the appointment and agreement.
The county's acceptance of the dividend and the approval of the Mandeville Agency agreement complete the insurance items discussed at the Nov. 3 meeting; the board adjourned that session at 9:15 a.m.
