Airport board recommends Sibanye Stillwater be allowed to lease west-side land with four conditions

The board attached four conditions to the recommendation: 1) acknowledge FAA height restrictions identified by the engineer; 2) ensure the pedestrian gate remains in place; 3) require that Sibanye fencing not be attached to airport fencing; and 4) provide a 24-hour encroachment contact so the airport would be notified of changes to the leased land.
The recommendation is advisory and will be considered by the City Attorney and City Council; the board did not finalize a lease document or set terms beyond the listed conditions. No vote totals with named counts were recorded in the minutes; each motion was recorded as “all in favor.”
The board listed the Sibanye Stillwater matter under new business and will track the item as it moves through municipal review. The next board meeting is Nov. 10, 2025.
