At its regular meeting the City of Lewistown commission approved several routine procurement and administrative items including the 2026 gravel bid, the 2026 snow-hauling bid, adoption of new cemetery fees for 2026 and the 2026 commission meeting calendar.
Staff explained the annual gravel bid locks in unit prices for commonly used materials; only one bid was received for gravel (Casino Creek Concrete). “We only received one,” the city manager said while presenting the procurement packet. Commissioners moved and approved the gravel contract by roll-call vote.
For snow hauling staff described per-hour pricing (equipment and operator) and noted the contract is not exclusive; Griffith Construction was approved as the 2026 snow-hauling contractor by roll call.
On cemetery fees staff said the city updates burial and lot pricing annually by applying the CPI increase (2.9%) and rounding to the nearest $5. The commission adopted Resolution 4214 to update the City Cemetery schedule of fees. Commissioners also approved the 2026 meeting calendar (first and third Mondays, with Tuesday moves for holidays).
All of these items were approved by roll-call vote. City staff said where bids were single-supplier outcomes (gravel, snow hauling) they remain able to negotiate or procure additional contractors if needed during the year.
