A staff member explained the district received a one‑year free service agreement when the generator was installed and now requires a paid agreement to continue coverage. The recommended contract calls for twice‑yearly inspections, an annual start-up and a two‑hour load test; annual cost is $4,112 with an additional up-to‑$5,000 contingency for repairs the maintenance manager may authorize without immediate board reapproval. "If anything needed to be done, he has the ability to spend up to $5,000," the staff member said.
The board voted to enter the service agreement with Evapar, noting the contract language can reflect an estimated not‑to‑exceed figure or be handled via change order/addendum if needed.
Staff will finalize contract language and proceed with service under the approved terms.
