Des Moines County supervisors approve Hidden Prairie final plat, realtor notice and two Class C liquor licenses

The Des Moines County Board of Supervisors approved a series of routine actions during its March 10, 2026 meeting in Burlington, including a subdivision final plat, a realtor notice, two Class C liquor licenses and acceptance of routine reports and minutes.

The Board approved Resolution #2026-017 certifying the Final Plat for First Addition to Hidden Prairie Subdivision under Iowa Code Section 354.8. Assistant Land Use Administrator Jarred Lassiter recommended the plat for approval after review by county departments; Member Jim Cary moved the resolution, Vice Chair Tom Broeker seconded, and the Board adopted it with a condition that an onsite wastewater permit be obtained and a code-compliant system installed prior to habitation.

The Board also approved a Notice of Proposal for Realtor after Assistant County Attorney Trent Henkelvig recommended approval. Board members raised concerns about how proceeds from any potential sale would be handled in light of a recent newspaper article regarding Imagine the Possibilities; the Board approved the notice (motion by Tom Broeker, second by Jim Cary).

Two Class C liquor license applications were approved after the sheriff reported no objections: Harvest View Farms (motion by Jim Cary, second by Tom Broeker) and Premier Dirt Promotions Inc. (motion by Tom Broeker, second by Jim Cary). The Board reviewed routine departmental fee reports and approved the March 3, 2026 meeting minutes (motion by Tom Broeker, second by Jim Cary). The meeting adjourned at 9:25 A.M.; a work session with the sheriff on jail facility projects followed.

All motions were recorded as passing; the meeting minutes state “Unless otherwise noted, all motions passed unanimously.”
