Commission recommends annual Indiana Landmarks contract be placed before Board of Public Works

Historic-preservation staff asked the commission on March 23 to recommend the annual contract for Blake with Indiana Landmarks and the City of Crown Point be placed on the Board of Public Works and Safety agenda for approval. Staff reported legal review had been completed and described a set of minor clarifications made to the contract.
Josh Watson said the arrangement has streamlined petition reviews and on-site assistance, noting, "He comes out, outside, he's petitioners and property owners and, also... it has saved a lot of time." Commissioners praised the consultant's responsiveness and moved to forward a favorable recommendation; the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
The commission's recommendation will be transmitted to the Board of Public Works and Safety for final action.
