The Johnstown Planning Commission unanimously approved a land-merger request on March 3 to combine two equally sized commercial parcels at the corner of Maple and Graywood Streets (Tax IDs 81-018-223.000 and 81-018-224-000).
Surveyor Matthew Harnett told the Commission the owner intends to consolidate the two parcels under a single tax ID but has no finalized development plans. John Rutledge confirmed the application is limited to the lot consolidation and that no site development plans were submitted with the merger request.
Harnett asked whether the City maintains a one-foot-above-Base-Flood-Elevation standard for structures in the flood hazard zone; Chairman Carthew and commissioners said staff and regulatory authorities should confirm technical elevation and finished-floor application details when a formal development plan is later submitted.
Commissioner Laura Huchel moved to approve the merger; Commissioner Michael Grandinetti seconded and the motion passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes.
