The council heard that the Columbus Plan Commission recommended the changes by a 9-0 vote. Bergman displayed maps of the affected area and outlined how the proposed modifications would alter permitted uses and development standards for parcels adjacent to airport property. Payne described operational or development needs that motivated the request.
There were no public comments on the measure. Councilor Tom Dell moved to pass the first reading and place the ordinance in proper channels; the roll call vote was nine in favor and zero opposed. The ordinance will return for subsequent consideration and any required public hearings or second reading before final adoption.
