Residents raise noise, buffer and supervision concerns; Council and Park Commission discuss playground security

Members of the Highland Golf Villas Homeowners Association presented several grievances to the Park Commission and Village Council about park operations and neighborhood impacts.
HOA representatives told the commission they have observed a lack of upkeep of the tree and vegetation buffer between the Villas and the park trail, and they requested regular mulching, trimming of dead branches and removal of dead shrubs and trees. They also reported continuing noise concerns around the park tunnel and urged the Village to consider mitigating measures; some HOA members asked to see the tunnel closed and filled to reduce noise transmission.
HOA speakers raised additional concerns that unattended children have entered private yards and gardens; they asked for greater parental oversight and better enforcement where trespass occurs. Park Commission members responded that the proposed mini-pavilions were designed to increase playground security and would be small (two to four people) if approved; the commission also noted that security cameras authorized by the Village Council are being installed at the playground.
