Daniela Garcia, Family and Community Health Program Coordinator at the Southern Oregon Research and Extension Center, updated the Jackson County Board of Commissioners on the Family and Community Health (FCH) Program during the March 3 work session.
Garcia reported that the program logged 700 volunteer hours in 2025 and described plans for 2026 that include offering Master Food Preserver certification courses and workshops on pressure canning, fermentation and freeze-drying. She highlighted efforts to engage Hispanic communities in program activities and services.
Commissioners thanked Garcia for the presentation. No formal action was taken; the briefing was provided as informational to help the Board and staff understand current community-health programming and outreach.
