On Jan. 26 the Select Board reviewed the draft Annual Town Meeting warrant and conducted a second review of the proposed Fiscal Year 2027 operating budget.
Town Manager Matt Hanson and staff walked the board through the ATM draft, which lists routine articles (reports, consent, revolving fund limits), community preservation funding, capital projects, the FY27 operating and ambulance enterprise budgets, and warrant articles including a Shawsheen Technical High School feasibility-study appropriation, charter and bylaw amendments, and the Prudent Investor article (Article 18). Hanson referenced the Select Board budget presentation materials and the FinCom scorecard as the basis for continued budget deliberations.
Board members agreed to continue reviewing budget and warrant details at subsequent meetings and requested follow-up materials as needed. No final votes on the budget or warrant-inclusion decisions were recorded during the session.
What’s next: Staff will refine budget materials for further Select Board review; final votes on the warrant and operating budgets will occur before Annual Town Meeting.
