The Grove subdivision set for March 18 public hearing after engineering resubmission

Kevin Pascoe, a representative of Volthoff Homes, told the St John Town Plan Commission on March 4 that his team resubmitted engineering materials for The Grove on Feb. 25 and expects a second review letter from Robinson. "I'm here tonight to give an update on our request for primary plat approval for our subdivision, The Grove," Pascoe said, adding that certified mailings went out Feb. 24 and a legal notice ran March 3 in the Northwest Indiana Times.
The town staff confirmed the submission has been redistributed to public works and public safety for review and said one major public-safety concern—the similarity of the development's street name to an existing road—has been resolved by renaming the road specific to the development. Staff told commissioners they had not received substantive outstanding objections and expected to provide a fuller update at the March 18 public hearing.
Commissioners asked whether town or engineering reviews would block the hearing; staff and the applicant said they do not foresee major issues, though the project remains under review pending the Robinson letter. Pascoe said all outlots within the project will be owned and maintained by the homeowners association.
The commission did not take a final vote on The Grove at the March 4 study session; the item will appear on the March 18 agenda for a public hearing and formal action if necessary.
