Clovis Unified Governing Board adopts agenda, receives Special Education workshop

The Clovis Unified Governing Board adopted the Feb. 19, 2025 special meeting agenda and received an overview of Special Education programs from district staff at a workshop held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Professional Development Building in Clovis.
The board voted 4-0 to adopt the agenda. Board Member Tiffany Stoker Madsen moved to approve the agenda as submitted and Board Member Hugh Awtrey seconded; the motion passed with Awtrey, President Yolanda Moore, Stoker Madsen and Wilma Tom Hashimoto voting aye. Board Members Deena Combs-Flores, Steven Fogg and Clinton Olivier were not present for that vote.
District staff provided the Governing Board with an overview of Special Education programs and processes during a scheduled workshop. The minutes record that staff presented program information and process details; the Board did not take any formal action or vote on policy during the workshop.
Superintendent Corrine Folmer, Ed.D., and other district administrators listed as present included Deputy Superintendent Norm Anderson; Associate Superintendents Barry Jager and Michael Johnston; General Counsel Shawn VanWagenen; and Chief Communications Officer Kelly Avants, APR.
President Yolanda Moore adjourned the special meeting at 5:23 p.m. No further action was recorded in the minutes.
