Milan council approves consent agenda, pays $524,230.08 in bills and hears community updates

At its Aug. 19 meeting the Milan City Council approved routine business including the Consent Agenda (which included July building and code enforcement reports), and approved bills payable and payroll in the amount of $524,230.08. Councilmember Kerkes moved to approve the Consent Agenda and Councilmember Stafford seconded; Councilmember Stafford moved and Councilmember Kerkes seconded payment of the bills and payroll; both motions carried unanimously.
Clerk Lavonna Wenzel reported August primary election results and voter counts (396 in-person voters; 671 absentee ballots processed) and directed residents to the clerk’s page on the city website for detailed results. Community Engagement Director Jill Tewsley announced upcoming events including the final Milan in Motion at Wilson Park and the 3rd Thursday activities.
The council set the next regular meeting for Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025 and adjourned at 7:57 p.m.; Councilmember Kerkes moved to adjourn and Mayor Pro-Tem Wayne seconded, with the motion carrying unanimously.
