The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors voted to approve Resolution No. 20-2026, which provides a 3.00% salary increase for all nonunion county employees for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026.
Under the resolution: employees eligible for a step increase will move one step (2.5%), Step 1 will receive a 0.50% additional increase, other steps will be adjusted to maintain the 2.5% between steps (excluding the top step), and employees not eligible for a step increase will receive a 3.00% salary increase. The top step will increase by 3.00%.
The motion to approve was moved by Supervisor Miller and seconded by Supervisor Jorgensen. Roll-call voting recorded Supervisors Brian Shea, Susan Miller and Jeff Jorgensen in favor; Supervisors Tim Wichman and Keith Jones opposed. The motion carried by majority vote.
The resolution directs implementation for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026; the minutes do not record anticipated fiscal impact totals or departmental budget offsets.
