The Pottawattamie County Board on March 3 accepted the low bid from Western Engineering Company, Inc. of $4,848,233.33 to complete HMA resurfacing on Tamarack Road (project FM‑C078(213)‑55‑78). The Board authorized the county engineer to execute construction contracts after receipt of required contract documents, including the contractor’s performance bond and certificate of insurance.
At its March 10 session the Board approved an Axon Enterprises binding quote for TASER equipment, training and program management services and authorized Year‑1 funding of $514,651.17 from the county’s gaming funds to implement the program.
The Board also approved the ES&S bid for new election machinery and authorized the chair to sign a purchase agreement for approximately $600,000. The minutes record these as separate, affirmative motions; the Tamarack contract award and the equipment purchases were handled as part of regular agenda business and accompanied by the routine roll‑call approvals recorded in the minutes.
None of the meeting minutes provided detailed contract exhibits, service schedules or payment schedules beyond the award amounts and the funding source recorded for the Axon purchase. County staff are directed to collect required contract documentation and proceed with procurement and implementation steps.
