Board approves three-year asset-management contract with Violytics for road and asset inventory

The board approved a three-year customer order form with Violytics for AI-driven asset management tools designed to collect PASER road-condition scores, catalog signs and other assets, and export data to the city’s GIS and reporting templates.
City engineer Matt McElroy described the software as a way to use staff driving city vehicles to gather imagery and data. “It was a 3 year term… a one-time service fee for onboarding, training and phone packages, and then the recurring services are the $27,000 per year,” McElroy said.
McElroy noted the system can export the required asset-management data for state reporting and that the city recently hired a GIS specialist to integrate the outputs. A vendor representative (Slater Rush) was present to answer technical questions.
A board member pointed out that the purchase is effectively a software license and recommended legal review; staff confirmed attorney review would occur. The board moved to approve the customer order and authorized the mayor to sign on the board’s behalf; the motion passed by voice vote.
