Sheriffs association backs modest jump in snowmobile registration fee to restore grooming funds

Fuller said the registration statute has remained at $10 for roughly 30 years while processing fees charged by the DMV and program costs have risen. He said proceeds fund a segregated ODOT grooming fund that maintains snowmobile areas, and the increase would return the program to solvency while keeping Oregon’s fee lower than many neighboring states. Fuller said the bill simply changes the $10 to $30 and does not include indexing.
Patrick, who introduced the bill in the hearing, said fiscal impact and revenue statements are available on OLIS and that the measure came from the Senate on a 20–7 vote. The committee closed the hearing with no committee vote recorded in the transcript.
