The Bryce Canyon City Council approved several routine motions at its March 5 meeting and heard administrative updates on fleet leasing and fuel supply.
Committee member Mike Stevens moved to approve the minutes from the Feb. 19 meeting; Committee member Cherrie Tebbs seconded. The transcript records Committee member Kam Roundy and Committee member Gary Syrett voting yes and indicates the motion carried. Stevens also moved to adopt the meeting agenda (seconded by Cherrie Tebbs); the transcript again notes Kam Roundy and Gary Syrett voting yes and the agenda was adopted.
Financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet, budget) were reviewed. Warrants were presented and a motion to approve warrants was made (mover recorded as Gary Syrett, second Kam Roundy); the transcript records Committee member Mike Stevens and Committee member Cherrie Tebbs voting yes and indicates the motion carried.
During department reports Mayor Shiloh Syrett said there was no update on the lease ending for the Dodge pickup. The mayor said a lease extension would require payments totaling over $100,000 while a buyout would be around $70,000, and said the mayor’s office would follow up to clarify options. Committee member Mike Stevens reported that propane tanks have been switched over to Blackburn Propane; Garkane picked up two tanks and two remain to be collected.
The council briefly opened the Local Building Authority at the start of its Local Building Authority agenda item (motion by Mike Stevens, second Gary Syrett), conducted no business, and adjourned that authority by motion. The council later voted to enter an executive session (an affidavit is attached to the minutes, per the transcript); a subsequent motion closed the executive session. Committee member Mike Stevens moved the motions related to the Local Building Authority and the executive session; Gary Syrett is recorded as the seconder in the transcript for those motions. The meeting adjourned following a motion by Mike Stevens and second by Gary Syrett; the transcript records Cherrie Tebbs and Kam Roundy voting yes.
