The Milan City Council on Feb. 18 approved a multi-item consent agenda that cleared a series of special events and routine reports for spring and summer 2025.
Approved event permits include: a Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive fundraiser on April 11–12 (8 a.m.–5 p.m.); the Downtown Milan Wine Walk on April 26 (3 p.m.–7 p.m.); an Earth Day celebration in Wilson Park on April 27 (11 a.m.–4 p.m.); the 2025 3rd Thursday events series running Thursdays from June 19 through Sept. 18 (5 p.m.–8 p.m.) with an attached Traffic Control Order; a Milan Farm & Flea Market on the 2nd and 4th Sundays from June 8 through Sept. 28 (event hours 9 a.m.–3 p.m., set up 7 a.m., tear down 5 p.m.); and a Relay for Life overnight event in Wilson Park from 9 a.m. Aug. 16 through 9 a.m. Aug. 17.
The council also received and filed the Building Department report and code enforcement report for January 2025, and parks and recreation commission minutes from October and December 2024. Councilmember Wayne moved to approve consent items A–H; Councilmember Snyder seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
These approvals clear the way for organizers to finalize event logistics with city staff and public safety officials; several events will use Wilson Park and require coordination with the Parks & Recreation Department and, where applicable, traffic control planning.
The council’s next regular meeting is scheduled for March 4, 2025.
