Raeford council approves FAMPO MOU change to add Fort Bragg as voting member

The Raeford City Council on May 3 approved an updated Memorandum of Understanding with the Fayetteville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization that adds Fort Bragg as a voting member of FAMPO's Transportation Policy Board.
Deloma Graham, FAMPO interim executive director, told the council the updated MOU amends Section 3 to permit Fort Bragg representation with voting privileges. Councilman John Jordan moved to approve the agreement and Councilman Charles Allen seconded the motion; the council unanimously carried the motion. The city clerk will retain the agreement on file with the planning officer and city clerk.
Council members asked for a clarifying description of the geographic area affected by a later agenda item (Hwy 401 billboard coverage) during the presentation; staff identified the area as just north of the ABC store around toward Doc Brown Road near Virgil's as not covered by NCDOT signage rules.
The approval was recorded by roll as part of the regular agenda business.
