The Raeford City Council on Jan. 7 unanimously approved Budget Ordinance Amendment #5, transferring $10,000 from contingency to Professional Services to pay for planning consultant services required by North Carolina General Statute 160D related to land-use changes.
Councilman Charles Allen moved to approve the amendment; Councilman Robert Conoly seconded. The motion carried unanimously (4-0), with two council members absent.
The ordinance amendment increases account Professional Services (10-490-1800) by $10,000 and decreases Contingency (10-420-9700) by the same amount. The amendment directs that copies be furnished to the Clerk to the City Council, the Budget Officer and the Finance Officer for implementation and record-keeping.
The action implements a funding adjustment to ensure the city can obtain consultant support to meet procedural and technical requirements of NCGS 160D when pursuing changes to local land-use regulation.
